Look Good…Feel Better
The 2nd Annual Charity Golf Challenge
held on 11th March at Steenberg Golf Club.
A 100 players from Cape Town and Jo’burg descended onto the lush and luxurious Steenberg golf course on the 11th of March 2010 looking for greener pastures (out of the office) and paired up with their four ball partners at the Elizabeth Arden Registration table, sipping on some refreshing red espresso cocktails, for it was way too early for a proper “cold one”. Accuracy and composure on the course (applicable to only 10% of the players) was at the order of the day . Thanks to Indigo Cosmetics at the 19th hole, a well deserved lunch was enjoyed with some battle talk and friendly bantering between the teams and partners. This really set the mood for a thrilling end to this golf day.

Prize giving and dinner was once again a fun filled event with MC Matthew Pearce, famous South African sport and TV presenter, who had the guests in tears of laughter with some very entertaining rugby stories. Clos Malverne also brought something to the table by sponsoring the wine for the tables and some prizes. An auction was held with incredible memorabilia and prizes to bid on, also hosted and lead by Matthew Pearce. With all the money raised together through the days event, sponsorships and the auction, a staggering R 68,994.78 was raised to make a difference to more women cancer patient’s lives.

With goodie bags, hampers, happy or haunted memories of that eagle that could have been on the 14th hole and that last bit of bragging of the perfect drive on the 5th hole, another LGFB Golf Day is was in the bag.
